From the land of spice and everything not-so-nice (terrain-wise, that is!), I'm a first-gen student trying to make my family's Biryani-sized dreams come true. I'm either knee-deep in Renaissance art or lost in ancient history books, probably because I'm trying to avoid my culinary adventures... let's just say my grandmother's Biryani recipe is still safer in her hands. Istanbul was amazing, though I'm pretty sure I accidentally ordered a hundred portions of baklava. As for changing the world? I'm hoping to season it with a little culture, a dash of compassion, and maybe, just maybe, a perfectly replicated spice blend.
